We have been working very hard to learn the numbers 0-30. Over the long weekend, please continue to practice these numbers with your child at home. Your child should be able to count to 31, write numbers 0-30 in and out of order, name each number out of order, and identify forward and backward on the number line.
You can make flash cards at home to help practice number recognition. To practice making ten frames you can draw some ten frames on a piece of paper. Next, give your child a number and have him/her write the number on the paper. Finally have him/her fill in the ten frame using markers, crayons, paints, small toys, cereal, uncooked noodles or anything else they might find "fun" to use!
Next week we will learn about the hundreds chart and we will begin learning how to count by 2's, 5's, and 10's.
Don't forget to send us postcards! We only have 39 and our goal is to get 100 by the 100th day on school in the beginning of February!
