Parent Workshop # 2

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Parent Workshop on Friday.  I hope you found it helpful!  If you were unable to attend, please review the paperwork in the yellow folder and contact me with any questions.

Welcome Pinky!

Santa sent us an Elf to watch over everyone in the classroom.  Today the class had to write about what they think the name should be.  Mr. Serensits read all of the journal entries and choose the name, Pinky!

Addition

This week we are starting addition.  Please review the daily worksheets to see exactly how we are practicing in school.  During Friday's workshop we will review more ways to practice addition at home!  I will also be showing you our Envision Math 2.0 online components!

Thank You Veterans!

On Friday we had a Veterans Day celebration!  Here are some pictures from the festivities.  I would like to thank all of our Veterans for your dedication to our country.  I would also like to thank all of the Veterans who came to George Wolf to celebrate with us!  We enjoyed meeting with you and listening to your stories.

Reminders

Friday we will be having a Veteran's Day celebration in school.  Part of the celebration will require us to be outside.  Please make sure to dress your child warmly.  It is supposed to be quite chilly Friday morning!

We are collecting postcards for the 100th Day of School.  We are currently on day 51 and we only have 7 postcards!  Please forward our address to family and friends and ask them to send postcards, too.  We look forward to hearing from our family and friends :)

Fall Party Fun!

Vocab Parade!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Vocab Parade.  Everyone looked amazing in their costumes!  A special congratulations to Sophia and Eden for winning best costume!

Community Helpers Unit!

We made our second podcast today!  All month we have been working on a Project Based Learning Unit on Community Helpers.  We have been reading stories about Community Helpers, completing center activities, doing writing projects and next week we will have parents coming to our school to talk about their careers.  On Friday, October 27th students will be dressing up according to what they want to be when they grow up!  Enjoy the podcast!

Counting to 10!

This week we will continue to practice counting, reading and writing numbers 6-10.  Please continue to work on counting objects at home.  You can use small toys, cereal, or coins to practice.  Tomorrow we will practice ways to make 10.  This lesson can be difficult so please save the worksheet that will come home and practice for our test next week.

Please have your child wear pink on Thursday for Breast Cancer Awareness!
