Time and Money!

This week we started a new chapter in Math.  We will be focusing on time and money for the next few weeks.  So far we learned all about the penny and nickel.  Today we will be learning about the dime.  Please review these three coins at home.  Students will be required to count mixed coins for the chapter assessment and for the report card.  So for example, they will have to know that a penny, and two nickels equals 11 cents.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

We Love Math!

This week we finished chapter 7 in Math and we will be having a test next week.  Please review the following skills with your child--counting by 2's, 5's and 10's, ordinal numbers (first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth), even and odd numbers and the number line.  Yesterday we practiced going "up" and "back" on a number line.  Some students confused the two terms so please review this at home with your child.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

**Reminder--Students have NO SCHOOL Friday, February 15th.  School is open Monday, February 18th!

Happy 100th Day!

Today we celebrated our 100th day of kindergarten!  The 100 items that each child brought in are now displayed in the hallway.  Some items include M&M's, noodles, marbles, crayons, cereal, and pennies. Today we worked on 100th Day posters and we recorded a new podcast! We hope you enjoy the pictures!
