Snow Days!

Since we have a few days off, I thought I would suggest some things to work on at home.

~ Read! Work on the 25 book challenge sheet. Remember, if you lost the sheet just record the books read on any blank sheet of paper. Also, I will be collecting the "Be a Phanatic About Reading" sheets early next month. Please finish them up and send them in. Maybe we will be the lucky school to get a visit from the Phanatic!!

~ When reading, ask your child to identify characters, setting, main idea and plot. They can also practice picking out sight words from the story.

~ Have your child write a story about their adventures in the snow! Encourage them to use their BEST handwriting!

~ Practice writing their first and last name neatly.

~ Practice counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's. Practice counting from 1-31.

~ Review AB, AAB, ABB, and ABC patterns. You can also review the terms top, middle, bottom, left, right, over, under, above and below.

~ Next week we will begin learning about money. They will have to identify the penny, nickel, and dime.

~ Build a snowman :)

~ Go sledding :)

Our Valentine's Day Party will be on Tuesday, February 16th!
