Butterflies!

Today we released our butterflies.  We enjoyed watching them fly away!

In math we are continuing to work on Subtraction.  Please practice this skill at home.  We will be having our text next Tuesday.  Please review both addition and subtraction.   Both skills will be assessed for the report card in the next few weeks.

In writing we are working on writing two or more complete sentences.  Please encourage your child to write complete sentences at home, especially over the summer!  Remind them to use appropriate spaces, punctuation and capitalization. 

In language arts we are working on reading sentences fluently.  Please continue to read with your child each night.  The more practice they have the better reader they will become.  Please also review character, setting, sequence, and main idea.  This skills will be assessed for the report card in the next few weeks.

Field Day Fun!

We had a blast at field day today!  We would like to thank Mrs. Vajda for all of her hard work.  Enjoy the pictures!

Field Day Shirts!

We would like to thank Mr. Bindics for helping us make our Field Day shirts.  We had lots of fun making them and they turned out great!

Class Reward!

Today we had our class picture with Hero!  We have earned 120 tickets so far this year!  Keep up the good work Kindergarten :)

April Fun!

This week we started learning about addition.  Please practice this new skill at home with your child!  You can use small toys or cereal pieces to help your child solve the addition problems.

Today we planted marigold seeds.  We will be taking care of them for a few weeks and then they will be coming home.  Thank you to everyone who donated seeds and soil for this fun activity!

This Week....

This week we read "Max Takes The Train".  We colored trains and wrote about where we would go if we could take a train ride.  We worked on the comprehension skill realism and fantasy.  Please review these terms at home when reading with your child.  We are also working on reading sentences fluently.  The decodable readers and the homework that I send home each week are good practice to help your child learn to read fluently.  We are currently working on our last set of sight words.  This week we learned "green, yellow, blue".  Please continue to practice all of the sight words that we have learned this year.

In math we are working on the measurement chapter.  We are practicing measuring classroom items using paper clips and snap cubes.  This week we also learned about weight and capacity.  We will have our measurement text next Tuesday, 4/16.   We will begin addition next week.
